Outsourcing cost calculator

Estimate the cost of a software or AI project from your own inputs. The calculator does not claim a guaranteed market price.

Project assumptions

15% — use this for identifiable scope, data, or integration uncertainty.

How the calculation works

labor = people × weekly hours × weeks × hourly rate. We add the one-time cost plus enough monthly operating cost for the delivery period. The displayed range varies labor by ±10%; the named uncertainty allowance is applied to the base total for the upper bound.

Use a rate supported by a current proposal or your own planning assumption. The software development cost guide explains the delivery, buyer, operating, and transition costs to model around this result. For AI projects, also include model use, evaluation, data work, and hosting; read the AI development cost guide before treating the result as a complete budget.
